Switzerland has been the center of financial world for centuries, so an insurance company from this country cannot be absent from the top ten list.

Zurich Financial Services (or simply Zurich) was founded in 1872 and in just three years it was licensed to provide insurance service in five other countries. They were the first continental insurance company active in the USA. Today Zurich operates in 170 countries, employing more than 60,000 people.

It's reputation suffered after Zurich Financial Services settled a $171 million case relating to bid rigging and price fixing in the USA in 2006. However, results of 2007 were positive and now the company's goal is to reach world's top 5. In Forbes' chart they are at position #6.
