  2. Thanks for the note. Critical Illness and disability insurance are separate things. Critical Illness pays out a lump sum when the insured is diagnosed with a covered critical illness.

    Disability insurance replaces the insured income if they are disabled due to an injury and or an illness. If you are covered under a group policy you should check with your broker or Empire Life directly if you are covered. Their CSC is 1.800. 561.1268
